Since the TRUST Act was initially proposed in 2011, Gov. Brown has met with ICE and its out-going director John Morton but has yet to meet with Californians who suffer from the Secure Communities deportation program and would benefit from the bill’s passage.

group of undocumented Californians seeks to change that on Tuesday when they conclude a 600 mile tour of the state that began in San Diego last week.  The National Day Laborer Organizing Network, Immigration Youth Coalition, and California Immigrant Youth Justice Alliance started the tour to collect the stories of people targeted by police entangled in immigration enforcement, expose unjust deportations, and bring that experience to the Governor to call on him to advance immigration reform in California as the bill moves to the House.
