Stopping Deportations Should Be ‘Plan A’ for Immigration Reform – Pablo Alvarado in Politico

Pablo Alvarado - Politico

“The president’s answer — that he is out of options — is unacceptable. The White House’s argument is not based on the limitations of the law but the limitations of the administration’s political calculus.”

Winning Immigration Reform or Winning Elections – Marisa Franco in Fox news Latino

Marisa Franco - Fox News Latino

“To pit campaigns for legislative reform and administrative relief against one another is a false choice. Successful social movements throughout history have always been defined by multiple forces, pushing on multiple fronts.”

Aloe Blacc

NEW MUSIC VIDEO: Aloe Blacc’s “Wake Me Up”

Aloe Blacc‘s song ‘Wake Me Up’ currently sits at No. 4 after spending 17 weeks on the chart, and it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere soon. The just-released video to the acoustic version isn’t exactly hurting its relevancy either.

The soul crooner, who’s the uncredited singer on the regular version, stars in the visual. The clip trades in the EDM break down for a break down of the U.S. immigration issue.

The video stars a cast with real-life experience. After you watch, sign the petition for Hareth’s dad to stop his deportation.

TRUST Act - Signed

California TRUST Act Signed into Law!

Just before the convergence in Phoenix, California took an enormous step forward when Governor Brown signed the TRUST Act into law. When it goes into effect in January it will actively limit when law enforcement submit to ICE holds and protect people from being turned over for deportation for minor infractions.
