ICE Accuses MA father of “smuggling” charges for driving his co-workers near border

It seems it is easier for ICE to invent allegations against someone than to reunite a father with his children. The immigration office in Boston told us last week that Victoriano, Massachusetts father of 3, is supposedly under investigation for “human smuggling.”  This is an indiscriminate investigation of anyone who has passengers in their car while driving near the border. For driving others to work, Victoriano could be deported. Find out more about his story and sign his petition here.

In order to keep this family together, we need the support of our elected officials. The petition signed is also sending an e-mail to Senator Markey’s staff, urging them to take action. But calls to his office, especially from Massachusetts constituents, could help sway his decision to support.

Call Senator Markey’s office, 617-565-8519

Suggested script: “I am calling to ask Senator Markey to take action to support his constituent, Mr. Victoriano Aguilar, who is in immigration detention. Victoriano is a loving father and is the sole provider for his 3 US citizen children. He was detained by ICE based on racial profiling by local police. I urge you to make a call to ICE to inquire about Victoriano’s case and work with his community and supporters to make sure he is not deported. Thank you.”

Please help us keep this family together by telling ICE to stop his deportation and urging Senator Markey’s office to support Victoriano and his family.

Thank you,

Bliss Requa-Trautz,
Just Communities of Western Massachusetts
