#Not1More Deportation

Urgent Action Needed for New Jersey Father in Deportation Proceedings

After being in immigration detention for 8 months, ICE granted Dave a 1-year deferred action. Then, two days ago, 3 black vans surrounded Dave’s house and took him into custody once more, even though nothing in Dave’s situation had changed. Yesterday he was transferred to New Orleans, which signals that ICE is getting ready to deport him. Please take a minute to make a call for Dave:

  1. Call the New Orleans ICE Office’s Assistant Director, Brian Acuna at 504-599-7868;
  2. Call the ICE Headquarters in Washington DC at 202-732-3000.

Suggested script: “Hello. My name is _____, I am calling from ______. I am very concerned about the detention and deportation of Mr. Dave Johnson, A# 076-187-057. He was granted deferred action in April of this year, and then was detained again. He is the father of 5 children, he has no criminal record, he has lived in the U.S. for almost 20 years, and he has deep ties to his community. Will you use prosecutorial discretion to stop his deportation and release him from detention?”

Dave and his family really need our help. If he is deported to Jamaica, he fears being the target of the same gang violence that he fled from. His children are desperate to have him back at their side. Please join us in letting ICE know that they cannot continue to tear or families apart. Sign the petition here, and don’t forget to make the call.
