This Georgia Father Doesn’t Fit ICE Priorities, But Georgia ICE Office Insists on Deporting Him
Ismael Reyes Alonso is an upholstery and migrant worker has lived in the U.S for 11 years. In 2004 Ismael came to the U.S. to look for better opportunities and to support his sister and his mother who suffer health problems. Today in addition to supportig them, he has two little girls, 3 and 5 years old.
Ismael doesn’t fit any of the priorities outlined by immigration enforcement. The only record he has relates to two traffic accidents, one in 2012 when he lost control of his car and ended on the side of the road, and a second from 2015 when he had a mild crash, where no one was hurt. It was a few months after this last incident that ICE showed up at his house, and took Ismael straight to the ICE facility in Lumpkin, Georgia
Ismael is in no way a threat to public safety, and should be considered low priority for deportation even under ICE’s own standards. In addition, his family, including his children, his sister and his mother, will suffer greatly if he continues to be detained and if he is deported.
Please tell the ICE field office to excercise prosecutorial discretion and release Ismael from detention.

I am contacting you today to express my support for use of prosecutorial discretion for Mr. Ismael Reyes Alonso (A208-210-180). Mr. Reyes Alonso is an upholstery and migrant worker has lived in the U.S for 11 years. I urge you to use prosecutorial discretion in the case of Mr. Reyes Alonso and release him from detention.
