Because there is a voice that screams inside my heart, demanding of me to act according to my dreams.
Because my people’s pain is bigger than my hunger.
Because I am more than sure that fasting will nurture my soul and those who watch will be infected by energy and hope.
Because I am convinced that it is possible to coexist with harmony and respect and share the world with butterflies, fish and dolphins.
Because the only future of the human race is the human family, and staying together makes us joyful and strengthens us.
Because I think that dying and being born in any country is a circumstance that escapes our control.
Because every human being is only an extension of one another.
Because skin color is merely an accident, and what matters most is invisible.
Because I have the privilege of working with and for the day laborers and their impregnated journey of hardships has inspired me to look for better dreams.
Because I am a day laborer by heart, and that fills me with pride.
Because I can see my reflection in every fellow worker that with patience and dignity awaits for work.
Because the “Si se puede” nests inside me, and I am sure that united we can make it!

NotOneMoreDeportation.com is a campaign made of individuals, organizations, artists, and allies to expose, confront, and overcome unjust immigration laws.
As the immigration debate continues, #Not1More enters the discussion from the place that touches people in concrete ways and can offer tangible relief. By collectively challenging unfair deportations and unjust policy through organizing, art, legislation, and action, we aim to reverse criminalization, build migrant power, and create immigration policies based on principles of inclusion.
