Expectant Father to be Deported without Trial

Free Alberto!Alberto Pedroza Arellano (A# 089 274 905) was detained by ICE after a traffic stop and is currently being held in McHenry County Jail. ICE has told him he will be deported on December 3rd.

Alberto is the father of a three year old US citizen child and his wife is in her eighth month of a high risk pregnancy. Alberto’s family needs his support and his deportation should be stopped.

Alberto came to Harvard, Illinois from Mexico in 2004. In Harvard he  fell in love with and married his wife Maribel. In 2008 Alberto was arrested for driving under the influence.  He pled guilty and was detained by ICE and deported to Mexico. However, Alberto and Maribel remained committed to each other despite Alberto’s deportation. Alberto risked his life crossing the Arizona desert to come back to her and Maribel went to Phoenix to meet him. They returned to Harvard and had their first child together in 2010.

Alberto began working in a factory at Harvard and earned enough to support his small family, paying for their home and even buying a pick up truck. Earlier this year Maribel became pregnant again. After doing an ultrasound, Maribel’s doctor told her her pregnancy was high risk and it was possible her child would be born with down syndrome. However, Alberto and her felt confident that together they could overcome any challenges her pregnancy might bring.

Alberto was torn apart from his daughter and wife after a traffic stop on November 18th.  He was turned over to ICE and was told that because of his previous deportation he would be deported in two weeks without being given a trial. Maribel will give birth this month and doesn’t know how she will support her children without Alberto’s help.

Alberto needs to be with his family. Sign below to tell ICE to stop his deportation!
