#Not1More Deportation

Julio was Taken into Custody at Probation Office, 10 Days Before His Wedding

at the beachJulio Carrera Huizar is a 32 year-old man from High Point, North Carolina who cares for his 2 young children. He has been in the United States for 12 years, traveling here in order to offer a better life to his family.

Julio was racially profiled and arrested in 2015 for driving without a license. He was released under probation, but a 10-year old DUI charge came up in his record. As it turns out, 10 years ago he had hired an attorney who did not inform Julio that he needed to complete community service, which got him an arrest warrant. Once in court, the previous attorney acknowledged his mistake, and Julio was given another change and probation.

But on December 15, 2015, when Julio showed up to his probation appointment, he was taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and placed in deportation proceedings.

Julio has two children who are dependent on him, one who is 3 years old  and another who is 8 months old, both of whom are U.S. citizens. His 3 year old daughter is having a hard time eating right now because she missed her father. His 8 month old son was born premature and he has continuous issues with asthma and bronchitis. He is currently undergoing treatment with and ear infection. His partner of 3 years has cancerous cells in her uterus and has to go for constant check up every 6 month; her next appointment is January 7, 2015.

Julio has been with his partner a lawful permanent resident for 3 they were planning on getting married on December 24, 2015, just 10 days after he was detained. They had the invitations, the venue and everything ready, but since Julio was taken into custody they had to cancel everything. Now, that Julio is in detention his partner is having difficulty paying the bills. She currently owes $480 to her babysitter and her rent is due this week, she has not been able to do it.

Please help us ask the Georgia ICE office to stop Julio’s deportation so that he can be released and be reunited with his partner and children.
