#Not1More Deportation

New Jersey Grandfather Victim of Fraud to Be Deported This Thursday

CatalinoCatalino Guerrero came to this country trying to escape gang violence in Mexico and hoping to protect and provide for his family. Twenty years ago he was victim of fraud from an attorney, who lied to him about the immigration documents and requests he was filing, saying that he could get a work permit and a social security number legally.

But the person was lying and filed an asylum application without my dad’s knowledge. Even though the application made him eligible, he was eventually denied and told to leave the country. After a lot of years of fighting, he has been told he has to leave the country by this Friday August 28th.

Catalino has bought his ticket for August 28th and is taking it to ICE for his check-in this week but we want him to stay. He has fought before. Community organizing has already helped us keep my dad here for 2 years. But now ICE is telling us there will be no more chances.

Catalino has no criminal record, he has close ties to the United States including 4 children who live in in the country and 4 grandchildren, the latter of whom are U.S. citizens. He is an elderly man with several health problems, including severe problems with diabetes and his heart. He also is a responsible community member, has paid his taxes every year and owns a home in his neighborhood. In addition, Mr. Guerrero has no criminal record and support from his community.

Please help keep this family together by signing the petition and letting ICE know that the community still cares about Catalino. Thank you for your support.

Please sign below to send an e-mail to ICE in support of Catalino, urging them to stop his deportation!

Director Mark Vogler,

I am writing in support of Mr. Catalino Guerrero (A 072-417-781). Mr Guerrero came to the United States to escape gang violence in Mexico and hoping to protect and provide for his family. He has no criminal record, he has close ties to the United States including 4 children who live in in the country and 4 grandchildren, the latter of whom are U.S. citizens. He is an elderly man with several health problems, including severe problems with diabetes and his heart. He also is a responsible community member, has paid his taxes every year and owns a home in his neighborhood. In addition, Mr. Guerrero has wide-ranging support from his community.

I understand Mr. Guerrero was placed in deportation proceedings after being a victim of fraud and was not found eligible for asylum. I know that Mr. Guerrero is grateful for the time that he has gotten to be with his family. However, i urge you to consider all the factors in his case hope that you will consider granting him prosecutorial discretion and approve his stay of removal.

Thank you,
